A rent receipt a landlord gives a tenant as proof of payment. It records who paid, how much, for which rental period, and by what method.
A rent receipt is the tenant's proof that rent was paid, which matters most when rent is paid in cash and leaves no bank trail. Many states require a landlord to provide one on request, and some require it for every cash payment. Record the period the payment covers so there's no dispute about which month it settled.
How to use it: Tenants who pay cash especially need this — a signed rent receipt is often their only proof they paid. Note the rental property address and the period the payment covers. Everything except the document is stripped from the printout automatically, so what you see is what prints. To email a copy, choose "Save as PDF" as the destination in the print dialog — no software to install.
